Responsibilities:
Manufacturer of industrial products seeks an experienced Manager of Corporate Environmental Affairs who is bilingual in English and Japanese.
Responsibilities
(1) Survey and implement proactively, the risk management for environmental regulation and billschemical management, recycling, energy saving, design for environment etc. and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations for all North & South American facilities.
(2) Perform analyses of environmental laws, market situations, trends, competitors, industry changes and provide reports to department.
(3) Communicate outside groups (PR firm, Press, industry group, governmental agency, Environmental NGO/Non Governmental Organization, Environmental NPO/Non Profit Organization etc.) to keep good relationship with social and environment.)
(4) Promote the corporate environmental strategy and actions, and based on the corporate environmental strategy, set up local fit Pan-American environmental strategy and action plan at all facilities in America (arranging environmental conferences, coordinating with related divisions, and making announcements)
(5) Establish and update corporate wide environmental standards and policies for all employees and monitor for compliance with such standards.
(6) Provide information and training for employees on environmental issues, the ISO 14001 program as well as legal compliance issues.
(7) Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of company environmental programs, promoting the Earth Day and environmental education classes for local students.
(8) Act as a managerial liaison with the various departments and Japan HQ in order to solve and coordinate any environmental related matters.
(9) Assist the Senior Manager in the establishment and maintenance of relationship with governmental and independent agencies as well as various industry groups.
(10) Plan and Control a budget of environmental activities.

Qualifications:
(1) Special knowledge on environmental regulation (chemical management, recycling, energy saving, design for environment etc.) and Environmental management system (ISO14001)
(2) At least one year experience in environmental and regulatory activities or similar industry preferred
(3) Must speak, read, write Japanese and English fluently
(4) Bachelors degree or equivalent
(5) Ability to communicate and negotiate with management at all levels
(6) Excellent problem solving, logical thinking skill, analytical skills and organizational ability
(7) Proficient personal computer skills required in word processing, spreadsheets, database allocation software
