An innovative medical device company, focused on recovering hearts and saving lives, is looking for an Advanced Trainer. With corporate headquarters in Boson, Massachusetts, our client has offices in Aachen & Berlin, Germany and Tokyo, Japan.

Assisting with the execution of global adoption of heart pump technology through training and education for Japan clinical team and customers, candidates for this position must have the ability to effectively deliver training programs and content.  This position will work closely with Japan leadership as well the US training team.  This position will be responsible for executing training programs for Japan in a timely and effective manner as well as maintaining the currency of training and certification materials. This position will focus on the design, planning, delivery, and monitoring of product specific training programs to our field based support team in Japan.  The goal is to assure that our Japanese field team performs at the highest levels of proficiency, in order to assure safe and effective application of the product. Additional duties will include supporting the activities associated around our corporate based initiatives for external training and education, new product introductions and focused customer training/clinical support for trials as needed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead in establishing the training and competency requirements for employees who “support cases” and train customers.
  • Participate in the Train – the – trainer process and to act as preceptor and coach to the field team members.
  • Plan and organize product specific regional training in coordination with new product introduction or product updates.
  • Contribute to the design and production of material and programs used in customer training.
  • Contribute, review, and identify areas of improvement in the ongoing efforts to make the product instructions and support material a valuable resource tool
  • Job Qualifications:
  • BS in Nursing, Engineering or other clinical discipline. MS Preferred
  • Requires fluency  in Japanese and English, written and spoken word
  • Must have strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, coaching and motivational skills.
  • Must be a Self-reliant; takes initiative; results-oriented, open minded and approachable.
  • Ability to influence all levels of management and employees.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently (oral and written) in both Japanese and English
