Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities are listed by level of order of importance.
- Create, update, and maintain all company financial reporting; to include monthly financial statements and analysis, cash flow reporting, balance sheet and variance reporting, operating income, etc. Communicate to the parent company as is required.
- Provide justification explanations for all budget variances from departmental feedback.
- Manage direct reports, reviewing work as is necessary, coaching, and development accordingly.
- Consolidate monthly forecasts, operating plan, analysis for achievement of company goals.
- Review payment process detail, wire transfers, vendor payments, etc. as is related to the accounting process.
- Edit and maintain financial statements ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Japanese accounting practices.
- Act as the point of contact with EOS (Japanese auditing firm), to provide appropriate information as is requested. Review audited financial statements for communication to the parent company. Reconcile all variances.
- Conduct financial analysis as is requested or as a strategic effort for cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage the local annual budgeting process with department heads; create income statement. Manage the labor cost, administrative and depreciation budget.
- Create and communicate the Expatriate monthly payroll to forward for processing to Human Resources. Review the same payroll with individual analysis for communication to the respective employee.
- Provide financial analysis assistance to executive team for pricing, costing, and strategy.
- Act as liaison for the Expatriate’s individual tax filing process with the Japanese auditing company.
- Conduct an annual Expatriate transfer pricing study, partnering with the accounting firm.
- Complete corporate tax filing activities.
- Support local Japanese Expatriates to assist with required data and documents, housing, vehicles, benefits, etc.
- Track work hours of Japanese Expatriates for communication to the President.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a Financial field of study.
Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
Minimum of five years Financial planning and analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working experience with financial software.
One to three years experience managing staff.
Language Skills:
Proficiency in the English language.
Fluent in the Japanese language.
Complexity Skills:
Work is somewhat diverse, with several alternatives to consider.
Analytical Skills:
Prepares spreadsheets, word processing documents, maintains databases.
Internal and External Interactions:
Interactions both internal and external.
Other Requirements:
Flexible schedule as needed.
