ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manager provides support to the Director, Finance/Treasurer and the management team with critical thinking to achieve efficient, effective and appropriate earnings, spending and handling of assets.
  • Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives and policies for company.
  • Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, accounting, audit, tax, production control, customer service, and insurance activities for the organization.
  • Responsible for closing the books each month accurately and timely.
  • Prepares reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas Cost of Capital Management, Free Flow Cash, income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
  • Directs, coordinates, and prepares long range financial plans and annual plan.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining procedures, internal controls and systems necessary to maintain proper records and adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
  • Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and operations.
  • Coordinates and prepares information and explanations for audits of company’s accounts by Internal and External auditors.
  • Provides leadership and direction through communication and training (verbal or written) to all employees and by implementing and maintaining established Accounting policies and procedures to meet the standards to which the company subscribes.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Manager supervises all subordinate employees in the Accounting Department. Also, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Acts in the capacity of the Director Finance/Treasurer during periods of absence.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) with a major in Accounting, Finance or related field. 8-10 years experience in accounting and finance including six years of supervisory experience. Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
