Responsibilities:

  • Skilled with customer process from start to finish including order entry, order tracking, complex pricing and follow up.
  • Oversee the internal controls and procedures as well as month end close.
  • Assist with the standard costs, analysis of monthly variances, reconciliation of inventory accounts and assessment of reserves.
  • Support the annual external audit.
  • Monthly budgeting. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Support Director with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA Required.
  • Five (5) years accounting experience required (automotive manufacturing preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese.
  • Five years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting / general ledger area.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast paced setting. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Grasp of the Internal Controls and their implementation.
  • Understands and applies GAAP.
  • Understands and interprets financial statements per GAAP.
  • Understanding of SAP (an ERP system) and financial impacts of material transactions.
  • Understanding the relationship of inventory movements and their financial impact.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, communication with staff and management.
  • Good understanding of Cost Accounting a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
