Our client, leading manufacturer of hard chrome surface treatment to the automotive stamping industry, seeks an Account Manager.

This position is responsible for the growth sales as well as market development activities in Ohio, Michigan Indiana and Kentucky.  This is a home office setting and requires travel of 50% plus overnight stays.

Identify new opportunities within customer base that are compatible with corporate goals and develop marketing strategies to obtain new business.

Identify and pursue opportunities for growth of General Plating/small parts within and outside of core automotive industry.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain direct customer contact/relationships and the primary liaison for customer requests.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all sales aspects/commercial issues between customers and the company with purchasing, engineering, production, accounting, etc.
  • Responsible for all product lines related interaction with customers, including quotations, pricing, tooling, funding negotiations and quality issues.


  • Assist in identifying cost saving and quality improvement opportunities to meet customer and Company requirements.
  • Develop and execute business strategy for long term growth.
  • Establish, maintain, and cultivate strong positive relationships with customer purchasing, engineering, design, program management and other appropriate customer contacts. Attend on-site meetings and sometimes off-site customers meetings to respond to customer needs/issues 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week (weekends and off shifts at plant locations.)
  • Solicit customers RFQ’s, distribute internally for completion and follow-up to obtain sales revenue.
  • Assist production personnel with scheduling throughput, and transportation of customer work.
  • Exhibit and maintain positive outlook, and calmly handle adversity with resolution for production personnel to conclusion of primary goals.

  2. Sales experience in the automotive industry for experienced candidates..
  3. Working knowledge of and ability to interpret expertise blueprint reading and CAD data preferred.
  4. Ability to present technical die data and in house demonstrations for customers die surface preparations preferred.
  5. Working knowledge of competitors surface treatment processes and applications for PVD/CVD, Ionitriding/PPD, TRD, DLC-SI and Chrome Plating.
  6. Knowledge of Japanese language and culture a big plus.
