Our client is a global leader in manufacturing and cost simulation software. Headquartered in Concord, MA USA with operations across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. Due to year over year growth they are looking to expand its direct operations in Japan. This position would report to the GM of APAC Customer Success and would be a combination of remote and in office working. In office work would be conducted at their partner offices in Toyosu and Oimachi as well as trips to customers throughout Japan and APAC. In office work will be dependent on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our client is searching for a bilingual Solution Consultant based in Toyko Area, Japan that will be responsible for working with potential and existing customers across various discrete manufacturing industries. Primary responsibilities include developing and presenting  software solutions with an emphasis on articulating the business value to get customer buy-in during the Sales process as well as working with existing customers to provide consulting, configuration, and hands on mentoring to ensure they are getting the most value out of deployment possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customize demonstrations / presentations to address prospective client’s business needs
    • Work closely with our sales team to manage technical details associated with establishing the company as preferred solution with prospects
    • Lead consultative solution selling sessions with prospects and customers in the RFP, discovery, demonstration, and follow-up phases
    • Provide live demonstrations of our solutions
    • Articulate our value and capabilities to senior VP, C-level customer audience (vision setting) as well as user-level audience (technical validation)
    • Establish trusted solution advisor role and relationships with the key decision makers to facilitate a successful sales outcome
    • Provide feedback from field experiences to our product management teams to improve future releases of our solutions
    • Work with our Customer Success and Partner team to develop customer proposals, SOW etc. and smoothly transition client from pre-sales phase to post-sales solutions deployment
    • Domestic travel and occasional international travel (about twice a year) is required
  • Configuration of our solution to meet existing customer needs
    • Expert our user able to facilitate and lead hands on usage workshops with existing customers
    • Liaise with our HQ and Partners to maintain partner competence

BUSINESS SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3-5 years deep domain expertise in Manufacturing processes – Machining, Casting, Sheet Metal, Plastics, etc. Bilingual in English and Japanese.
  • Industry experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial Machinery (construction, agricultural equipment) preferred
    • Experience and success in selling high value, long lead time enterprise software solutions (PLM, ERP, CAD, SCM, etc.)
    • Hands-on knowledge of at least one commercially available CAD package – SolidWorks, ProEngineer, CATIA, Creo, NX, etc.
    • Knowledge of typical cost management business pain points of manufacturers; familiarity of cost management best-practices in New Product Introduction, Sourcing, VA/VE a plus
    • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or Python with ability to write\modify existing code a plus
    • High level understanding of enterprise software architecture and integration with typical systems such as ERP, PLM, SCM, CAD, etc. a plus
    • Strong presentation and communication skills
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive or Manufacturing engineering preferred
